The Pros And Cons Of Data Entry Jobs

The Pros And Cons Of Data Entry Jobs

There are more ways to earn extra money than you can shake a stick at – so what is so special about data entry jobs? Let me first explain what data entry work is – for those who do not already know: A company has a bunch of data that must be fed into a database or a spreadsheet, but the work cannot be done automatically. The company hires someone – perhaps you – to do the work by hand. Mostly, this means typing or copy/pasting data into the right place. This sort of work used to be handled by in-house secretaries in most companies, but since outsourcing work has become increasingly popular over the years, many firms choose to outsource these kinds of tasks as well, and focus their own energy on what they do best – whether that is running a law firm, doing marketing or something else.

What is good about data entry work then?

  • Great beginner job. You can get started fast, with little or no training. All that is required, in most cases, is basic computer knowledge and normal reading abilities.
  • Work from home – whenever you want. Much of this sort or work is offered online – and so is the data you will be working on. This sort of job is really great for stay at home moms (or stay at home dads), since they can work when then choose. Drive the kids to school, start the dishwasher and sit down and do some work.
  • Little or no investment needed to get started. No fancy suits to look good on the job. No commuting costs. Just a computer with internet connection – which – if you are reading this – you probably already have.

All good reasons for getting into data entry typing jobs at home – certainly enough to consider it seriously. But to be fair, let us look at what can possibly be held against such work. There are certain circumstances which could be considered negative:

  • Getting paid for the amount of work you complete means you won’t make much money if you are a slow typist. The good news are that you WILL improve your speed a lot, as you do the work. You may not see much money for your time in the beginning, but most people who stick with it, will see a change for the better.
  • It can be tedious bordering on downright boring. Much of the work is very monotonous in nature, so you have to able to deal with that. But not having to commute for hours to do it – tends to help a lot in that respect.
  • It will never become a high-paying job. In this line of business, you are considered as being on the low rungs of the ladder, due to the simplicity of the work. The fact that it may also be very boring, does not help on the wage.

So there you go – the pros and cons of data entry work. You can try it and see if you like it – it certainly is a nifty way of working, if all you need is extra cash. Great for stay at home moms or students alike. Even if it is only temporary.

Kids in the Kitchen: The COVID-19 Effect

Kids in the Kitchen: The COVID-19 Effect

Consider this: now is not the time for dinner parties of any kind. Instead, people are staying home, enjoying meals with their own nuclear families and looking forward to the recovery period on the other side of the COVID-19 pandemic, in which the world finds itself presently engulfed. As billions of people around the world face shelter in place orders mandated because of what this writer calls The COVID-19 Effect, family oriented dinners – and breakfasts and lunches – are increasing. This is a positive effect of a bad set of circumstances, as we shall discuss later. My mother used to say, “When you’ve been given lemons to live with, make lemonade!” This axiom can be utilized literally and figuratively in this respect thanks to circumstances that necessitate home meal preparation.

I wrote a book some time ago titled Kids in the Kitchen, which extolls the virtue of families finding common ground in the kitchen, of all places, to help cement the bonds of “unity within and among family units,” Saying invite as many people over as possible and we can always welcome the stranger into our home are vestiges, it seems, of a bygone era, and let’s face it, that’s just not something that we can do right now. But I suggest that my squabble holds true for those of us who are stuck at home and want to keep the home fires burning and the family unit intact. Whatever happened to the good ol’ days? You know, the days of having home cooked meals with loved ones and good conversation. The fast paced world of today has almost made cooking as a family event a relic of the past. You may be asking: Who has time to cook when everyone is worried about what will happen next in the pandemic crisis? This writer says, “Take it to the kitchen!” The silver lining in the cloud just may reveal the following 6 benefits, which may yield to you, the reader, a change of heart.

Brings the Classroom Home

Learning is something that should be promoted at all times even when not in school. Cooking as a family is perhaps one of the easiest (and tastiest) ways to do this. Turn every cake or pie into a math problem with a delicious prize by working on division and fractions. All subjects can be taught in the kitchen. Improving English or learning foreign languages can be taught through common phrases and ingredients. Social studies is a practical subject that is very easy and fun to integrate: have a cultural dinner once per week to teach about different countries, ethnic groups or traditions (Also the premise of my previously released book Kids in the Kitchen; Amazon.com.)

Promotes Healthy Living

In a country plagued by obesity, parents must remain on the frontline of caring for their children’s health. Also, promoting healthy eating for children can be just the jumpstart parents need to eat healthier themselves. Preparing food at home takes longer than fast food and microwave options, and this lack of instant gratification curbs junk food eating. When a family cooks together, a support system is automatically put in place for those who have trouble with snacking and poor food choices. An added benefit of family cooking is that children with food allergies can be catered to and the child can gain back some control over their situation.

Carry on Tradition

Passing things on from one generation to the next has become something of the past. Families that cook together can carry on old recipes and promote family pride while building better relationships with grandparents or extended family. Don’t have any family recipes? No worries! You can create new ones with children. Having something to pass on builds a sense of pride and anticipation for a productive future. A tradition of telling stories that surround those recipes is great to pass on as well.

Sometimes young people just need an opportunity to see how great they really are. Cooking as a family can help to build up a person from the inside out. Children can gain self-confidence and pride when achieving cooking goals, such as meeting deadlines and receiving praise for new recipes. Creativity, working well with others and organization are also skills that can be gained through family cooking.

Builds Bridges

Family cooking is one of the best ways to build relationships. Conversing with children, teenagers especially, can be difficult. Performing activities in a casual environment such as the kitchen while conversing can help to lessen the awkwardness and stress caused by some conversations. Everyone loves and needs to eat, so the neutral territory can ease any tensions. Also, parents may be able to more quickly notice when things are wrong. It can prove difficult to notice when something is wrong with a child who is allowed to spend dinner and all their free time in a private space. When family cooking is established, out in the open interactions are normal and red flags will be raised faster when that suddenly stops. Hint to children: always put dad’s TV remote control device back in the same place where you found it!

Healthier Marriage/Relationships

Yes, really. A marriage, especially one with vestiges of a blended family, has so many factors and sometimes complex issues that, to some degree, an activity as simple as family cooking may not seem like a solution. However, it makes perfect sense when you think about it. Family cooking saves money, time and sanity. The money saved can be spent on tuition, an extra car or home repairs that were causing tensions. Spent over a period of time, money saved can be used on bonding with a spouse instead of cleaning dishes all by yourself. The more sanity you have will help to de-stress your life, and who doesn’t need less stress specific to the issues presented by The COVID-19 Effect? No one knows for sure what will happen with the apex of the coronavirus, but this writer is confident that making family meals as a unit, including children, whenever possible, is important because you are attending to the needs of others, even if the kids you are helping are starting to seem very irritating because you’ve been putting up with them for the last six weeks. If it makes you feel any better; just know that this writer’s family is not the exception that proves the rule! By the way son; where is my remote control?

How to Respond to Babysitter Needed Ads in Your Area

How to Respond to Babysitter Needed Ads in Your Area

If you’re planning to go into babysitting to earn some money during the summer or on a regular schedule, you start searching for advertisements stating: baby sitter needed. Parents advertise their search for a babysitter in various ways. Generally, they put up an ad in local college newspapers to draw in potential sitters who are experienced, mature, reliable and looking into earning some extra cash. We are all familiar with the fact that a college education is costly so it is good to have extra income on the side. Other parents may just contact the career counseling offices and leave their details.

It is really good to prepare yourself for questions from parents prior to responding to a baby sitter needed ad. Usually, parents will include details on what they are looking for specifically in a baby sitter, such as qualifications, skills and even personality. Make sure you are aware of your own traits and what you are capable of, then mentally rehearse how you’re going to respond when a parent asks you a series of questions.

Once you find a number of ads or obtain information on some families looking for sitter services, be ready to contact them. If you feel unready, very nervous or are not consistent, the chances of you being hired are slim. Rather, face your fears by practicing-you could ask a friend to help you with the “rehearsed” interview.

Make sure you will inform parents why you’d like to apply and what your past work experience is. Inform them how much babysitting you’ve done so far and what sets you apart from other sitters (i.e. CPR certified). Include other household jobs you are willing to do, such as tutoring and cooking.

A lot of individuals would respond to a baby sitter needed advertisement. However, the competition is pretty tough out there-there will be heaps of other candidates who want the job. To increase your chances of being hired, consider formal training (baby sitting courses, etc.) and register in an online sitting agency.

How To Sell More Affiliate Products As A Blogger

How To Sell More Affiliate Products As A Blogger

As a blogger, if you are selling affiliate products in a bid to maximize your passive income potential, there may be several things that you could be doing to improve it even more.

Selling affiliate products allows you to put the links on your blog and receive commission whenever somebody buys that products or other products through clicking the link on your site.

Here are some of the ways you can sell more affiliate products as a blogger.

Make It Personal

It has been statistically proven that people are much more likely to buy (or avoid) something after reading a personal review. With that in mind, rather than just posting some objective comments about the products you are promoting as an affiliate buy them and try it out for yourself.

You can then write about what you liked and didn’t like, and people who follow your blog religiously will really value your thoughts. You could even contact the seller and come to an agreement regarding free trial products for you to review on your blog.

Write About Other Things

If everything you ever write is centered around a product and why other people should buy it, you will struggle to make much money through affiliate marketing.

People want to read something that sounds genuine, so only review and promote the products that you really believe in. Your blog will stand out and sound more real, and you’ll be able to benefit from quality buyers and readers.

Give Things Away

This can vary depending on what your blog is about, but you can give away free guides, tutorials, checklists, newsletters, magazines, or even physical goods sent out in the post. By giving free things away on your blog as well as promoting or reviewing the pricey items for sale, your readers will come to regard your blog as something fun and exciting, rather than just a platform for trying to get commission from them.

Offer Something Extra

If you really want people to buy the item through your blog rather than through the website of another affiliate marketer, you’ll need to offer something extra. People will buy without hesitation if they feel like they’re getting a really good deal. This could be your own personal guide to using the item, or it could be a small extra that you like to use with it and will send out to all buyers separately.

22 Great Ways to Save Your Money

22 Great Ways to Save Your Money

How to Save your Money?

1. Turn off the television.

The Greatest way to save money is to drastically cut down on the amount of television you watch. There are a lot of financial benefits to this: less exposure to spending-inducing ads, a lower electric bill (and perhaps a lower cable bill if you downgrade your subscription), more time to focus on other things in life, such as a side business and so on.

Want to take things a step further? Consider cutting the cord to cable TV altogether.

2. Enough with the collection and time to sell

Many years ago people thought their collection would bring them riches. Beanie Babies were a big fad at one time, as were Longaberger baskets. Now you can find those items on resale sites like Craigslist and at garage sales for a fraction of their initial cost, leaving many people who sunk thousands of dollars into their “investments” wondering what happened.

To avoid situations like this, never collect items of questionable value. And if you want to recoup some of the money you’ve already spent on collectible items, you can start selling them now and use those funds for any number of worthy financial goals.

3. Sign up for as many free customer rewards program you can

No matter where you live, you’ll find plenty of retailers who are willing to reward you for shopping at their store. Here’s the basic game plan for maximizing these programs: create a Gmail or Yahoo address just for these mailings, collect every card you can, and then check that account for extra coupons whenever you’re ready to shop. You can add to those rewards and discounts by using rewards credit cards to earn points on purchases at a wide range of stores that can be redeemed for cash back or other benefits.

4. Get creative

If you want to save money while also giving generously, creating your own homemade gifts is one way to accomplish both goals. You can make food mixes, candles, fresh-baked bread or cookies, soap, and all kinds of other things at home quite easily and inexpensively.

5. Understand the 30-day rule.

Avoiding instant gratification is one of the most important rules of personal finance, and waiting 30 days to decide on a purchase is an excellent way to implement that rule.

6. Prepare a list before going out for shopping and please stick to it

One of the easiest ways to save money is to only shop when you have all what you are buying written down. Because when you’re without one, you typically end up buying things you didn’t plan for or budget for and this will cost a lot. Creating a list before you go to the grocery store is very important and not only does it help you buy items that fit with your meal plan, but it can also help you avoid buying food you might waste. Always create a list and, more importantly “STICK TO IT”.

7. Call friends over instead of going out

Going out to eat has a way of completely destroying both your food budget and your entertainment budget in one fell swoop. And no matter what, it is always cheaper to stay in with friends and come up with your own entertainment.

8. Spend less entertaining your children

Most children, especially young ones, can be entertained very cheaply. Play ball in the backyard; teach them to ride a bike without training wheels once and for all.

9. Negotiate rates with your credit card company or complete a balance transfer.

Now if you’re paying a lot of interest on your credit cards, it’s important to know that you do have some power as long as you’ve been making your payments. Not only do you have the right to negotiate your current interest rate with your credit card issuer, but you have the right to transfer your balance to an entirely different card as well. Start by calling your card issuer at the number on the back of your card and explaining your request. If you don’t make any progress with them, check out these balance transfer credit cards to find one with an introductory 0% APR that could help you save hundreds of dollars in interest over time.

10. Clean out those closets.

Go through your closets and find anything and everything you no longer use. Then, don’t just get rid of it, use it to your benefit.

11. Drink more water.

Now not only does drinking plenty of water have great health benefits, it also have financial benefits, too. Drink a big glass of water before each meal in order to stay fuller longer and ultimately eat less. Not only will you save on the food bill, but you’ll also feel better after you become properly hydrated.

Remember; tap water is not only just as clean as bottled water, it’s also free.

12. Avoid going to Fast food/ Restaurants

Now instead of eating fast food or just nuking some prepackaged dinner when you get home, try making some simple and healthy replacements that you can take with you. An hour’s worth of preparation one weekend can leave you with a ton of cheap and easy dinner and snack options for the following week.

13. Quit Smoking

As a smoker, you will know by now that your habit is not only expensive, but potentially deadly as well. If you want to add years to your life and save a boatload of money, the easiest thing to do is to stop smoking altogether.

14. Turn off the lights and save your electricity bill.

Keeping the lights on in your home may not be expensive on a per-watt basis, but it sure does cost money over time. To save as much as you can, turn off lights any time you leave your house – or even when you leave the room. Turning off lights when you have plenty of natural sunlight can also help keep your electric bill down over time. The bottom line: If you aren’t using a light, turn it off.

15. Increase your yard sales

Yard sales are a great place to score awesome deals on items you need anyway – think house wares, shoes, clothing, or even sports equipment. The key is, you have to be careful not to use the low prices found at sales as an excuse to buy things you don’t need. Advice; at your next garage sale, limit yourself to items that were already on your list of things to buy.

16. Purchase quality appliances that will last.

It’s worth the time to do a bit of research when you buy a new appliance. A reliable, energy-efficient washer and dryer might cost you quite a bit now, but if it continually saves you energy and lasts for 15 years instead of five, you’ll save significant money in the long run.

17. Compare price list of groceries and find the cheaper one

Most of us get in a routine of shopping at the same grocery store, and we may not even realize that we’re not getting the best deal. Fortunately, there’s a simple way to find the cheapest store around. Just keep track of the 20 or so things you buy most often, then shop for these items at a variety of stores. Eventually, one store will come out on top for your purchases – just make that one your regular shopping destination and you’ll automatically save money.

18. Share your dreams with those you love and also those that love you.

I know this is an odd way to save money, but think about it. If you spend time with the people you love the most and come to some consensus about your dreams, it becomes easy for you all to plan for it. Set a big, audacious goal together and encourage each other to be financially fit – soon, you’ll find you’re doing it naturally and your dreams are coming closer than ever.

19. Get to know how to fix things yourself

Many years ago, it was far more difficult to find ways to fix everyday items we have in our homes. But today, it should be a piece of cake. You can find online tutorials and videos that show you how to fix almost anything, and all for free. No matter what you’re trying to fix, it’s always worth a shot. Learning a new skill never hurts either. You can always go to places like http://www.youtube.com and get some tutorial videos.

20. Never look down on yourself after making a mistake

Even if you make 10 good choices in your life, it’s easy to beat yourself up and feel like a failure over one bad choice. If you make a big mistake and realize it, think about why you realized it now instead of then, and try to apply that later on. The memory of that mistake can end up being very valuable, indeed.

21. Never look back – Always look further

Don’t let the mistakes of your past drag you down into more mistakes. Instead, look ahead to the future. Learn to see past mistakes for what they are. Sometimes the best life lessons are learned through life experience, good or bad, so embrace your past and don’t run from it. Promising to do better and setting goals can help keep mistakes where they belong which is in the past.

22. Don’t ever give up

Whenever the struggle against debt feels like it’s too much, go read a personal finance blog or get a finance tips book and remember that there are a lot of people out there fighting the same fight.

Make Money Online Scam Free – "Show Me the Money!" How to Make Money Online Scam Free

Make Money Online Scam Free – "Show Me the Money!" How to Make Money Online Scam Free

Make Money Online Scam Free. Internet scams, with such enticing names like “Winning in the Cash Flow Business” and “Shortcuts to Internet Millions”, proliferate over the Internet, and it is quite a challenge to make money online scam free. With the economy on the brink of recession, and with no end to the slump in sight, people have been looking for ways to earn money, to replace the money they earn from jobs lost, or sometimes to just supplement the family budget. With the ever increasing popularity of the internet, people have turned to online businesses to look for ways to earn an extra buck. And because of this, unscrupulous people’s imaginations are on overdrive to create bogus businesses that will fool you into parting with the little cash you have left. So how can you make money online scam free?

If you have internet access, and if you have a little spare time on your hands, why don’t you try “affiliate marketing”? Now what is “affiliate marketing”?

Unless you have been living under a rock for the past ten years, I am sure that at some point you have logged on to the Internet to retrieve an email or to read a blog. Have you ever noticed that in some blogs, especially the more popular ones dealing with a specific topic, like fashion or IT, there are advertisements on the right hand side of the page, or sometimes interspersed within the text of the actual blog? These advertisements are usually by companies offering products and services related to the topic of the blog. And since you are interested in the blog you are reading, there is a big chance that you are interested as well in the products or services being offered by the company advertising in the blog. So you click the advertisement link to take you to the company’s website, and when you do, the owner of the blog gets paid for your visit to that company’s website. This is basically the concept of “affiliate marketing”, and this is one legitimate way to make money online scam free.

But before you start dreaming of your potential earnings, you will have to create a website or a blog first. You have to make sure that your site is interesting enough to create buzz in the internet community, to make sure that you have enough traffic visiting your site. You also need to make sure that your site deals with a specific topic. In other words, you need to create your own niche, to ensure that your visitors are people with specific interests, who will in turn become the target market of the companies who will be posting their advertisements in your site.

In these very tough economic times, you need to be smart. Be very careful when choosing the online business you want to engage in. There are ways to make money online scam free, and “affiliate marketing” is just one of them.

Online Sweepstakes And Contests – Is It Frustrating? Not Anymore With These Tips

Online Sweepstakes And Contests – Is It Frustrating? Not Anymore With These Tips

Think again and give it a try if you feel online sweepstakes and contests are blunders. They are not if you are in the right place. However, the most common experience of many is always frustrating as the strategic approach is missing. Blaming luck or odds are simply excuses you give when you fail. However, look at the other side of the coin where thousands of peoples are winning sweepstakes and contests day in and day out. A lot is happening out there and probably you are missing the fun just because you are not a part of it.

Three Things You Must Prepare For – The Ultimate Mantra For Winning!

Strategic approach to entering sweepstakes helps in winning. The ultimate mantra for winning sweepstakes lies within making a strategy to overcome common obstacles. Well, having a computer and internet connection does not qualify you for winning. You must

• Think Twice Before You Share – Entering sweepstakes requires entering personal information. Therefore, think twice before sharing personal information. In addition, avoid naming conflicts during notarization of the winning affidavit. Stay away from providing PO Box address, as certain sweepstakes do not allow them, as sending prizes to such addresses is not possible.

• Grab The Right Spot To Play – Finding the right sweepstakes and contests to enter is the foremost priority. Screening must be precise and it helps in improving the chances of winning. You can search for directories listing sweepstakes for better coverage. Well, you can go a mile extra by reading blogs, tips, and tricks shared by winners. Make Google your best new friend and spend some time. It is worth it.

• Try Harder Like Never Before – Winning online sweepstakes is possible when you try harder like never before as it increases your odds. However, use directories and search engines to figure out the exact spot to hit. Certain sweepstakes or contests are tough to complete due to constraints at your or the sponsor’s end. Ignore them and move on. Keep trying and you will see the difference you make from the efforts.

Are You Forgetting Something – You Better Not

A common reason for not winning sweepstakes or contests is you tend to overlook the results after they are declared. Make a habit of following up with the sweepstakes results and check if your name is among the winners. Well, at times, you will not receive the prize just because you never claimed it. Moreover, occurrences of such instances are very common if you remain busy in entering new contests and sweepstakes without looking back. You may need to focus on factors like

• The process of notifying winners as it may change for every contest or sweepstakes you enter

• How to identify genuine emails declaring you a winner and call for action as tons of spam emails are sent day in and day out during various phishing attempts

• The actual process you must follow upon winning as you may need to follow different procedures for different sweepstakes and contests

• What are affidavits and why sweepstakes or contest sponsors require you filing it

Therefore, get your homework done correctly before you hit the mouse and keyboard. It is very necessary for consistent performance. You can win sweepstakes only when you try meticulously and systematically while keeping distractions at bay.

Upfront Payments For Prize Collection – Run As Fast As You Can

Scammers lure you by offering too good to be true sweepstakes winning and ask for processing fee, handling charges, or anything they find reasonable on the Earth to seize money from you. Winning mega-bumper international sweepstakes is fascinating but spending money on processing fee or handling charges is not. Therefore, always remember that legit sponsors of contests and sweepstakes will never ask for money in any form from you. If they do, run as fast as you can and never look back.

Virtues Imperative For Winning – Do You Have Them In You?

Winning continuously is a promising habit. However, you need to focus on imbibing virtues that help during the process. Rationalizing your actions helps too. Do not suffer from dry spells cast out of your ignorance or lack of interest. Here are things requiring your attention before and after participating in online sweepstakes and contests.

• Attitude – Your attitude matters when entering sweepstakes. Sponsors follow the procedure and you are no exception. You need to be a part of the process until it is over. Ninety days is common wait period before results are declared. Obviously therefore, you need to wait. In fact, this applies even when you win and are notified. Your positive attitude to take things in the normal manner definitely helps you to go a long way.

• Patience – Do not fall prey to the blues from non-winning sweepstakes. Your patience helps you to go through boring wait period unharmed. Well, at times, you may need to watch many sweepstakes you have entered. Perseverance embedded in patience allows you to strike when needed. Be sure to maintain the operational flow in spite of desperation or frustration.

Winning sweepstakes or online contests is possible in real-time as many options are redefining the scopes of availability to participate. Social media platforms like Twitter or Facebook open abundant opportunities to participate. However, make a schedule; dedicate a slot for entering and following up sweepstakes, and stick to your routine.

Please understand that earnings made from sweepstakes and contests are not an alternative to making living by a 9 to 5 job. Therefore, look for opportunities, hop on them once they are available, and make the most from every opportunity. You never know, these opportunities could bring key to your second beach-side home or sports car you have always craved for.

"Why Clarity Is Essential To Building Massive Momentum In Your Business"

"Why Clarity Is Essential To Building Massive Momentum In Your Business"

Clarity is an absolutely essential ingredient for you to achieve your full potential in business. Napolean Hill, in his classic book Think & Grow Rich, said “Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” He goes on to explain why having a clear definition of what you want to achieve is a critical factor in your success.

For business owners who truly want to be “on purpose” for success and take their business to the next level, I define “clarity” as follows:

Clarity is determining exactly what results you want to achieve and when you want to achieve them.

The key word in that definition is “exactly”. If you don’t make the time to define your goal in exact terms, you are not setting yourself up for success. Instead, you are setting yourself up for a guess.

That’s right.

A goal that is not clearly defined will not be clearly achieved. Part of the goal may be achieved, but you will not be completely satisfied with the results unless you take the time to define the entire goal upfront.

So why is having clarity so important?

Without clarity, your business moves from place to place like a ship without a rudder. But with clarity, you run your business “on purpose” and you will create amazing results — both for you and for your customers!

This may be best understood with an example. Several years ago I worked with a business manager named Dan who helped manage a company based in Massachusetts. Dan had

some lofty ideas for what he wanted to achieve, but they were not defined in much detail. He also knew that he wanted to achieve a lot of results in a short period of time, but he didn’t have a good idea of how he was going to do it.

In other words, Dan was just like many business owners and managers who I have met over the years. He wanted to accomplish a lot, but he needed help gaining clarity about his ultimate goal and his timeframe for achieving it.

The first thing I did with Dan was help coach him to identify his most important short-term goal. Once that was done, Dan and I worked together to figure out what timeframe was going to be our target for achieving this goal. And once we had clarity with our goal and the target timeline, both Dan and I felt much more confident about our chances for success.

In this case, Dan’s timeframe happened to be pretty aggressive and we both were confronted with a lot of opposition from people who thought that it couldn’t be done. Fortunately, this story has a happy ending. Dan reached his big goal and he reached it within the four month window that he had set for himself.

So how can you learn from Dan’s success and develop clarity for your business goals? Here are some questions to get you started:

1. Remember in Step One (“Understanding”) when you were asked how you measure

success in your business today? Well, you need to use the answer to that question to fill in the blank below:

What have you achieved in the last three months in your business in terms of _____________ ?

(i.e. typical items to fill in this blank are money, profits, or new customers)

2. What one goal would you like to achieve in the next 90 days?

3. Once you achieve this goal, what do you want to do with the extra money and extra time? In other words, what do you personally get as a reward for achieving this goal?

4. Looking back, what was your best month you ever had in your business in terms of ______________?

(insert your chosen measurement again in the blank, and then answer the question)

5. Can you summarize what happened that month (or that period)? In other words, what specific actions had you taken that led to those incredible results?

Let’s use another example to show you just how easy this process can be. Let’s pretend a woman named Cindy is the proud owner of Cindy’s Teddy Bear Company, which makes

custom teddy bears for children of celebrities and upper class families.

In last week’s article on Understanding, Cindy wrote down that the two biggest reasons she is in business is to positively affect children’s lives and to make enough money to be financially free. Cindy also thought about how she measures her success and determined that the number of customers she has is what is most important to her.

Cindy came up with the following answers to the five Clarity questions listed above:

1. In the last three months, I have gained 72 new customers.

2. I would like to get 100 new customers in the next 90 days. I have never done this before, so this is a very exciting goal for me!

3. When I reach my goal of 100 new customers, I will invest half of the profits into my personal financial freedom account and spend some of the profits on a one-week vacation to Mexico with my family.

4. In my best month ever, I gained 30 new customers.

5. During my best month, I think the biggest reason for my success was that I rolled out a marketing campaign to a local community and followed up on every lead that I received.

Great job with Step Two, Cindy! Now you’re ready to move on to Step Three.

Are you starting to get the picture and see how easy it can be to develop clarity for yourself? When you focus on the above questions and answer them honestly, you will be laying the next brick in your momentum foundation.

Make some time in your schedule this week to think about your answers to these questions. And if you have a business coach today, also make the time to review your thoughts about these questions with him or her.

Getting very clear about what you want to accomplish in your business in the next 90 days is a very important step to catapult your business into massive momentum. Take action and get these questions answered today.

You’ll be glad you did!

Make Money On YouTube

Make Money On YouTube

YouTube has made video publishing a great way to earn money and also to promote your business or service globally. It has gained significant popularity as high-quality video recording becomes less expensive. All you need these days is a decent stand-alone camera or one good smart phone and you can create some footage to rival big budget videos. It’s all about creativity and a good angle on forging a response from your potential viewers. The Set-up

Before you begin fancying yourself as the next Danny Boyle, it’s best to look into what kind of video you want. Are you looking to make direct money, or are you looking to use your video to promote engagement? Sometimes it’s common to be doing this for both reasons. What and why you film and post on YouTube determines the type of content on your uploads. In view of direct or indirect income from your video it’s clear that the measure of success is the number of views and shares your video can harvest. So what goes viral? We can never really predict what will, but based on past trends we can make some reasoned guesses. Even if your video doesn’t become a global hit, you can still cash in on the camcorder income, and a bit of any extra cash for your trouble.

The Delivery

Depending on the aim of the video, you can gather interest by presenting facts in an authoritative manner to keep the viewer informed or curious, and add external clips that relate to your subject as and when it is appropriate. If you opt for the light-hearted informal approach, keeping your video both entertaining and funny whilst still relating to your area of business is key to its success. Use informative tutorials or ‘how to’s presented with a tongue-in-cheek attitude to boost your viewing figures. Humour is always a good angle. There are quite a lot of free video editing tools that would make for good graphics for your clip, text sliders and integrated audio is easier to create and add than you think. A videoed opinion works well for direct sales or promotion if it’s well put together. Short, sharp and quick is the way ahead. Remember, online viewers have a very short attention span. You have the first 8 seconds to keep the viewer in your space. Start with a bang and maintain interest by editing out any irrelevant bits.

Sell! Sell! Sell!

If you sell a product or service, it pays to get customer testimonials that can be embedded into your website. It goes miles further than text testimonials, as anyone can do a fictitious one in a matter of seconds. This will not only enhance your YouTube representation, but its also useful footage that can be edited into your other venture – a video advert!

If you’re introducing a new product or service you could film an instructional video to go with it, giving both your business and your new gadget a boost. Publishers and authors do it all the time. Offer useful information around the subject your product is related to. Tell your viewers things they don’t know and then introduce your product without too much of a hard sell.

The dollar shaving club clip is still trending as the benchmark of all YouTube trade-focused videos. A total cost of $3,000 and some jobless members of staff helped Michael Dubin gain over 5 million views and huge volume sales of $1.00 shaving sticks. It’s an example of what imagination can do to get your message viral. He gained a huge viewing fan base, but to also gain 3% global sales conversion is nothing short of genius. View the Dollar Shave Club hit.

As a good starting point, make a fun video commercial showcasing your company culture or typical customer scenario. Showing footage of your busy work environment, fulfilling orders or demonstrating the benefits of your business would need entertainment or shock to transform one viewer into 10 or 20. A good video is only great for a single viewer to respond or engage. But to get viral it has to be funny, controversial, or very informative. A video that your viewers share on social networks is what you want. That’s the true meaning of a viral attack spread by those exposed to it. We’d advise that traffic by controversy should be left to the professional marketers or those that are just seeking a multitude of viewers and nothing else. It can produce risky results.

For those new to posting on YouTube, it’s probably best to be yourself. Be sure to present your unique selling point. As tempting as it is to hire a glamorous blonde as your spokesperson, this tactic usually succeeds in putting people off, so get some real people in front of the camera and let your customers see you can be trusted. Successful videos that have worked like a dream for the originators are typically make-up artists, business coaches, quirky retailers and entertaining web ventures. Music has also enjoyed commercial exposure on YouTube, and we are not talking about a major artiste or record label. Dub FX was a dub performer plying his trade for a few pounds around Camden and other similar European streets. Footage of his performance on YouTube reached a huge viewing number and, now, let’s just say he had his baptism at Glastonbury.

Click And Buy

New media technology doesn’t sit idle, especially when it comes to finding ways to create direct sales as you engage with media. Some started the idea with product placement as you watch a clip on YouTube. Now you can actually click on a highlighted object in videos and buy the item through the click through link. The set-up is much cheaper than when the technology was in Beta a few years back. You can have the programme running in your £20 YouTube video for a monthly package. A good way to more or less set up a YouTube shop is to have a scrolling catalogue with audio comment and some interesting footage to keep the viewer interested. Your content should capture the viewer’s attention and keep them there. If it’s fashion – talk about trends, tips and styles, throw in the odd celebrity picture and then display your items. The same goes for services. You can have clickable scrolling text as you introduce your unique service. Order now, book your place, and other calls to action phrases can bring you some direct revenue.

Ranking And AdSense

YouTube is great vitamins for your Google health. Search engines and web ranking your web presence can do wonders for surfer engagement and trade. After you’ve uploaded your video, be sure to enter a title, description and tags. After you’ve managed your key words and set phrases with supporting descriptions you’re on your way to getting a bit of a traffic boost courtesy of Google. Your video should be making a few hundred hits if you harness strategic links and spread the word on your social network or from your website. You video should start appearing on Google, riding on the back of your key phrases. Click-throughs to websites enjoy a healthy percentage from video searches commonly connected to YouTube. Page ranking with the help of your video on YouTube is therefore worthy of great consideration. Do your homework with how AdSense works and revenue from here can be realistic and consistent. Payments are made by YouTube into a Google AdSense account, and once you are fully enrolled in the programme you will also be able to switch on Google ads either to the side of or on top of your videos. This can earn additional income through pay per click and affiliate profits, and all you have to do is keep your video content fresh and enjoy the proceeds. Apart from direct payment, there are other ways you can build up your YouTube reputation to develop other revenue streams. You may be selling a few products on eBay or needing to get more visitors to your revenue-generating blog; it makes sense to include a link back to your site. You can engage with other businesses in your industry and offer to endorse their products in your videos, for a 5-10% commission on top of what YouTube pays you, or simply enter into an affiliate partnership. Do this without the middle men affiliate companies and your commission is yours alone.

The Partner Programme

The Partner Programme is where your videos really start working for you. Once you are a partner, you can expect to earn about $2.50-$5 (£1.56-£3.13) per 1,000 views of your video, and whilst this doesn’t sound very much right now, if you do manage to create the next viral sensation that brings in millions of viewings, you can expect to earn quite a dotcom lot for your hard work. Consider making money by selling scrolling text integrated into your video. A certain number of viewers is all the proof needed to have a platform for a related business to be interested. Product placement and endorsements as part of the content is an effective means to promote the business of a paying advertiser, big or small.

Fan Currency

Make your uploads unique and positively different and you are sure to build up a dedicated following of fans. Video marketing is not a get-rich-quick scheme, and to a certain extent it can be unpredictable; patience and thoughtful planning should help. It can be a lot of fun making the videos, and once they do start earning for you, they are likely to continue to do so month on month. Feed your fans, introduce videos from others that have some sort of connection to yours. By the time you’ve built up a library of 15 or more videos, you should be achieving a good number of views per video. Once all your videos achieve a minimum of 1,000 views each, you are sure to be contacted by YouTube asking if you would like to apply to become a Partner.

Posting videos on YouTube is a very public thing to do. You therefore need to be clear about permission and the terms for posting a video. Play it safe and make sure you have permission where applicable so that you don’t find your good work is not a wasted exercise. Situational footage where you bear witness with your video are exempt in some cases, so it’s a good idea to know what the parameters to this are. Make sure your video does not infringe someone else’s copyright. Take a few minutes and read through YouTube’s guidelines. They are also there to protect your own good work from others; you’d need to know when your copyright interests have been subject to infringement too. See YouTube copyright tips and guidance. Making money by way of YouTube has more options than we may be used to. It’s all up to you to put some catchy material together and manipulate income once the viewing figures begin to rise. It’s an open playground – let’s get filming.
